Zaniya is this month's success story! Zaniya is 10 years old and attends the Wake Forest Boys & Girls Club, where she has been a member for six years. Zaniya is 1 of 19 girls involved in Capital City Crew and has been an active participant for the past two years. Fun fact, she hasn't missed a single Crew practice; that's 30 sessions with perfect attendance!
Her favorite thing about Crew? Scrimmaging with other Crew members and scoring goals! Along with other Crew members, Zaniya has had the opportunity to tour the PNC and skate on the Canes ice like "real hockey players." They also got to meet some of the players as well as attend a Canes game.

During her time in Capital City Crew, Zaniya has learned the importance sportsmanship, "I love hockey, it's more then just a sport. I have friends and coaches who teach me something new each week; even if it's how to put the right elbow pad on my right elbow!" Zaniya is one of the many shining examples that prove how great the Capital City Crew program is. To learn more about how to get involved, click here.
